OCCI discusses challenges facing stationery and library owners

Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry , ( OCCI ), in North Al Batinah discusses the challenges facing the stationery and library owners, most notably Omanisation, censorship and illegal trade.

 The branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the North Al Batinah Governorate, in the presence of Engineer Saeed bin Ali Al Abri - Chairman of the Branch’s Board of Directors, discussed the challenges facing the stationery and library owners, in the presence of representatives of government agencies, including the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Governorate, the Directorate General of Labour, the North Al Batinah Municipality and the Directorate General of Consumer Protection.

The bookstore owners reviewed the obstacles facing this sector; the most prominent of which are Omanisation, censorship and illegal trade, which constitute unfair competition for merchants in the library and stationery owners, as well as direct supply from abroad carried out by some institutions.

 The attendees also discussed the importance of organising the work of this sector and simplifying its procedures, as the Chairman of the Branch’s Board of Directors stressed that the obstacles and demands appealed by library owners will be raised to the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures, stressing the need to unify efforts to achieve the desired results.

This comes within the interest of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Al Batinah in various fields in the private sector and discussing the challenges facing institutions in this sector.
