Muscat: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Mussanah is organizing a summer programme from June 23 to July 29, 2024. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to enhancing the skills of various community members and government employees through a diverse range of workshops and training programmes.
Dr. Khalifa Al Hatmi, Head of Continuing Education and Community Service Department, emphasized the programme's objectives, stating, "The programme aims to bridge the gap between the university and the external community by offering high-quality programs."
The summer programme includes a variety of educational activities, such as an IELTS Preparation Course designed for university students, graduates, and employees from both within and outside the university. Participants will have the opportunity to take the IELTS exam on campus at the end of the program. Additionally, courses will be offered to develop English language skills for 12th-Grade 12 school students, as well as a workshop on the art of architecture.
The programme also features sports and technical activities, including Athletics and Taekwondo, a workshop on robotics and artificial intelligence, a Microsoft Office 365 fundamentals course in English, and a certification course for home electrical wiring aimed at graduates and job seekers. Furthermore, a course on electrical protection using the Vebko amt-205 device to test and inspect all types of transformers and protection tools will be available.
In the field of health and safety, the program includes a first aid workshop and a resume writing workshop. Additionally, the "Future Pioneers" training camp will focus on developing leadership and innovation skills among the youth.
These workshops and courses are part of the university's ongoing efforts to enhance education, training, and capacity building in the community to achieve sustainable development by providing educational and developmental opportunities for individuals.
