Eid activities boost tourism in wilayats of North Al Sharqiyah Governorate

Muscat: Wilayats of North Al Sharqiyah Governorate witnessed active inflow of visitors at the tourist and archaeological sites with the organisation of events, activities and programmes accompanying Eid Al-Adha.

The wilayat of Ibra witnessed a large footfall of visitors to the zoo due to its public facilities and services, and in the state of Wadi Bani Khalid for and Muqal for their water ponds.

Wilayat of Bidiya also witnessed heavy tourist movement due to desert and sand activities for which the wilayat is famous. The region is famous for 4-wheel drive and bicycles sport racing competitions, in addition to the establishment of open markets at the centre of the wilayat.

The wilyats of Al-Mudhaibi, Al-Qabil, Dima, Al-Taiyin and Sinaw witnessed organised events accompanying the Eid, such as the holding of horse and camel racing, and traditional archery competitions, in addition to the holding of the “Eid Joy” event implemented by the North Al Sharqiyah Municipality in the seven wilayats of the governorate. This is in addition to holding of Eid festivals in a number of public locations, and organising competitions for children.
