Oman welcomes UN Security Council resolution on permanent ceasefire in Gaza

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman welcomed the Security Council’s decision to establish a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

The Foreign Ministry welcomed the resolution issued by the United Nation Security Council to support the deal to reach a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and calls on all parties to take serious steps towards its implementation without delay.

The Sultanate appreciates the efforts made by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America to pass this draft resolution. It urges the international community to implement it and oblige the Israeli occupation state not to evade its responsibilities and international demands for the necessity of stopping the brutal aggression against Palestinians. Oman urges for the adoption of a way that leads to achieving the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in support of peace and stability in the region
