Doha: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 160th session of the GCC Ministerial Council, held in Doha, the State of Qatar.
Oman’s delegation in the session was headed by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.
The meeting reviewed joint GCC action and decisions were taken regarding several matters.
The ministers underscored the unwavering positions of GCC states regarding regional and international issues, most notably the Palestinian cause.
Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, also participated in the 6th joint ministerial meeting between the foreign ministers of the GCC and Dr. Shaya Mohsin Zindani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen.
The meeting highlighted developments in the Yemeni arena.
Further, the meeting affirmed the firm, joint and supportive position towards the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in a bid to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in accordance with the GCC Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and Security Resolution 2216.
This, the ministers affirmed, must be done in a manner that preserves the sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and independence of Yemen.
Moreover, the Foreign Minister took part in the 6th joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between GCC foreign ministers and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.
During this meeting, the ministers underscored the development of historic GCC-Türkiye relations and joint cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and tourism.
The ministers stressed their mutual keenness to continue and intensify work to support the Palestinian cause.
They also underlined the importance of boosting political, diplomatic and legal work on the foundations of justice and unity of standards in dealing with various issues and challenges in a manner that contributes to establishing security and stability in the region and the world. -ONA
