Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism signed ten contracts under the usufruct system to implement projects in several wilayats and governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with an investment cost of more than OMR 6 million.
The contracts were signed by His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, on behalf of the Ministry, investors, and representatives of the companies concerned.
The projects that will be implemented include the establishment of a 3-star hotel and a tourist rest house in the Wilayat of Salalah, the establishment of a tourist camp in the Al-Khudf area in the Wilayat of Thumrait in the Dhofar Governorate, the establishment of a 3-star tourist resort in the Wilayat of Shalim and the Al-Halaniyyat Islands in the Dhofar Governorate, and the establishment of a 3-star hotel, an adventure centre, and a luxury tourist camp in Barkat Al-Sharaf. In addition to a 3-star resort in Misfat Al Abriyyin in the Wilayat of Al Hamra in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, a tourist camp in Wadi Mastal and a tourist camp in the Wilayat of Nakhal in the South Al Batinah Governorate. In addition to a tourist camp in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
Amira Bint Iqbal Al Lawati, Director General of Tourism Development at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that the signing of the usufruct contracts comes as an extension of the investment program for the tourism sector in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman to achieve the economic and social impact of the new projects and their contribution to serving local communities by providing job opportunities and enhancing local content. In addition to increasing the supply of hotel rooms and facilities in the tourism sector’s requirements, in line with the objectives of the comprehensive tourism development plan.
Muslim bin Ahmed Al Hadary, the owner of the Al-Jusoor Al-Mania Resort project in the Wilayat of Salalah in the Dhofar Governorate, said that the project consists of chalets designed in a qualitative way that suits the nature of the Dhofar Governorate and will provide various tourism options for guests. It will contribute to strengthening the tourism and economic sector in the Wilayat of Salalah in particular by contributing to the development of investment and the development of the tourism scene in the wilayat and its strategic location.
Salem bin Sareed, the owner of the Jabal Shams Hotel project in the wilayat of Al Hamra in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, said that the project includes the establishment of a three-star hotel and a training centre for mountain adventures and will contribute to introducing the region and its various types of adventures, such as mountains, valleys, and mountain paths that connect Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to other governorates.
"The centre will also provide information to those interested in adventures about the correct methods that tourists must adhere to while practising adventure sports, and it will cooperate with several concerned authorities that provide safety methods, " the owner of the Jabal Shams Hotel project added.
