Muscat: Sheraton Oman Hotel is thrilled to announce its exceptional achievements at the first-ever GM Awards organized by Hotelier Middle East. The hotel has been honored with two distinguished
awards, celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of its General Manager, Samir
Messaoudi.
Messaoudi was selected as General Manager of the Year - Oman, a recognition that follows his
three consecutive features on Hotelier Middle’s East GM Power List from 2021 to 2023.
Samir Messaoudi's exemplary leadership and strategic vision have significantly elevated the
positioning of Sheraton Oman Hotel. His direction has not only driven excellent financial
performance but also fostered a culture of innovation and excellence within his team. Under his
guidance, the hotel has achieved notable milestones, including leading the market in 2023 by
achieving the highest revenue per available room (RevPAR) compared to its competitors, with
exceptional growth over the previous year.
The award also highlights the hotel's significant increase in total sales for 2023 and improved
overall profitability, demonstrating Messaoudi's dedication to operational excellence and
financial success. His strategic initiatives have expanded the hotel's outside catering services
which has facilitated the successful conversion of numerous diplomatic events and functions,
further boosting the hotel's revenue streams.
Beyond his operational endeavours, Samir Messaoudi has been deeply engaged in industry
initiatives, currently serving as the co-chair of the Oman Tourism Committee which aims to
boost the tourism development holistically, considering not only the immediate needs of
travelers but also the long-term economic impact on the destination. His involvement in
promoting economic growth and collaboration, includes his role as the current sub-committee
chair of Government Affairs and Culture under the Oman Marriott Business Council, which
highlights his broader impact on the industry and community.
Additionally, Justin Jacob, the property’s Director of Revenue has been recognized as the
Future Leader in the Region. This distinction is a testament to the strong leadership and
guidance provided by Messaoudi, who has been instrumental in nurturing talent and driving
professional growth within his team.
