Muscat: Oman Data Park and Omantel signed a pact to provide Uqudo digital identity solutions for infrastructure, that will contribute to accelerate the digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman. The signing celebration was held at the Comex 2024 exhibition.
Under this agreement, Oman Data Park will provide Uqudo’s digital identity solutions service in the Sultanate of Oman, to enable individuals and the company’s clients in various government entities and private sector companies to securely authenticate and verify identities online.
In a statement about the deal, Eng. Maqbool Al-Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park said: “This deal with Omantel will empower us to enlarge the chances of utilising Uqudo’s platform that provides end-to-end digital identity technologies for customer enrollment, digital identity verification and biometric detection, NFC-based passport reading and verification, document cognitive analysis and scanning as well as utilising the (eKYC) technologies and Artificial intelligence (AI).
Al-Wahaibi added: In accordance with this cooperation, both parties have committed to building combined offerings to facilitate and accelerate the digital journey in Oman. This will enhance user experience and security and improve access to online services across the country, supporting Oman’s efforts in the process of digital transformation.
Ghassan Al-Hashar, Chief Financial Officer at Omantel, stressed on the strategic depth of cooperation with Oman Data Park as one of the most important professional companies working in the field of providing cybersecurity and managed cloud services in the region, while this cooperation enable the two parties to provide the latest necessary solutions against the challenges in the field of digital identity solutions and contributing to empower the digital economy in the Sultanate of Oman.
He added that Uqudo service by Oman Data Park, and within the cooperation with Omantel, will contribute to enhance the businesses on the ODP platform, which will gain access to exhaustive identity solutions that can support their overall growth while being compliant with regulatory requirements.
