Muscat: Acting in cooperation with Dar AlKebra Investment firm, the Ministry of Labour organised a conference about the extent to which knowledge-based economy spurs economic growth.
The conference explored the latest research and studies on the role of knowledge and innovation in achieving economic growth. It offered an opportunity for experts and interested parties to exchange experiences and knowledge in this field.
The participants also reviewed the challenges facing knowledge-based economies and ways of enhancing cooperation and economic partnerships as a means of meeting sustainable development goals.
In addition, the participants studied the role of technology and innovation in analysing the impact of economic policies. They discussed how the government and private sectors could better support knowledge-based economy and laws regulating the use of modern technology.
The conference saw the participation of economic development experts, representatives of economic planning departments and finance departments, heads of projects and initiatives, innovation specialists and entrepreneurs.
