Gulf Radio, Television Festival kicks off in Manama

Manama: Activities and programmes of the 16th edition of Gulf Radio and Television Festival kicked off in Manama today.

The three-day festival, which takes the slogan “Our Media, Our Identity”, is organised by the Bahraini Ministry of Information in cooperation with Gulf Radio and Television.

Represented by the Ministry of Information, the Sultanate of Oman took part in the opening of the festival through a pavilion in an event titled “radio and TV production market”.

Through the display of dashboards and other interactive screens, the Information Ministry’s pavilion showcased Oman TV’s modern media content and outstanding programmes, including the programmes of the General, Sports and Culture channels.

The opening ceremony included two symposiums. The first was about “Digital Media: credibility and positive impact” and the second touched on the topic of “Gulf drama within two generations.”

Twenty media professionals, artists, directors, scriptwriters and producers from the Arab Gulf countries will be felicitated during the current edition of the festival. Three best performers from Oman will be honored: artist and writer Ahmed Said Al Azki, the late journalist Abdullah Said Al Shuaili and sports broadcaster Younis Mohammed Al Fahdi.
