Muscat: Oman Flour Mills Company (OFM), signed an agreement, to support and empower livestock breeders in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, by providing high-quality animal feed for two years, to contribute to improving livestock nutrition and increasing productivity.
This agreement comes within the framework of OFM’s efforts to strengthen food security and sustainability in the agricultural livestock sector and support local communities in the Sultanate of Oman.
The pact was signed in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of the Governorate of North Al Batinah, and Ahmed bin Alawi Al Marza, Head of the Sustainability Department in Oman Flour Mills Company.
Al Kindi praised the efforts made by Omani Flour Mills in promoting sustainable development and providing support to livestock breeders in North Al Batinah to raise their production efficiency.
For his part, Ahmed bin Alawi Al Marza’ stated that this step comes as a part of the national and social responsibility undertaken by Oman Flour Mills, to support the government’s efforts, represented by the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, that aims to contribute to provide requirements of food security in the Sultanate of Oman, that OFM pays great attention to it, due to its importance in reducing imports and meeting the urgent need for Omani meat in the markets.
In addition to its basic activity of grinding wheat and other types of grains and selling flour under its leading brand “Dhahabi”, the leading brand of the Oman Flour Mills Company, whose products include more than 20 types of flour and related products; OFM exerts unremitting efforts in providing animal feed.
In this field, the company’s industrial activities, also, include the manufacture and production of animal feed under the “Barakat” brand for animal feed, while the group factories of OFM, expanded investment in the industrial production of animal feed by erecting three factories for the production of animal feed, to enhance the inputs of the circular economy and utilizing the available raw materials in the local environment, to produce a range of feed products in an economical, sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, that enhances food security and provides in-country value added to meet the needs of the Sultanate of Oman for food manufacturing inputs.
Among the company’s efforts in this field, is the animal feed production plant at Wilayat of Muttrah, which is the third factory established by Oman Flour Mills Company as part of its efforts to contribute to achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
