MUSCAT: Anticipation and excitement are palpable and visible as Kuwait eagerly awaits the ‘State’ visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, on Monday.

With Kuwaiti citizens and media professionals eagerly awaiting this significant event, hopes are high for strengthened cooperation and strategic relations between the two nations.

Leading Kuwaiti media figures have said that the visit is a milestone in the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two nations. They anticipate that this visit will not only bolster the existing bilateral relations but also pave the way for broader horizons of collaboration.

Mohammed Abdul Latif Al Bahar, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Kuwait News Agency for Arab Publishing Affairs, emphasised the historic significance of His Majesty’s visit, highlighting the enduring bond between the leaderships and peoples of Kuwait and Oman.

Al Bahar said that the unique depth of Kuwaiti-Omani relations is anchored in historic ties between the two leaderships and peoples. He pointed out the shared visions and common aspirations of both nations, stressing their mutual commitment to advancing relations towards new horizons.

He pointed to the landmark visit of the Emir of Kuwait to Oman in February, which played a big role bolstering economic and investment ties, underscoring its role in enhancing the overall trajectory of bilateral relations.

Al Bahar underscored the alignment between Kuwait and Oman in their approach to media engagement, pointing to their shared commitment to professional responsibility and excellence.

He noted the credibility and respect accorded to the media of both countries by the public, reflecting a mutual dedication to upholding journalistic standards.

The senior Kuwaiti journalist believed that the visit will be significant in advancing bilateral progress at both official and grassroots levels, envisioning it as a milestone to be cherished in the national memory of both nations. 

Dr. Noura Abdullah, a prominent Kuwaiti media personality, echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in the robust political and social ties between the two countries, which she views as a beacon of cooperation.

Kuwaiti journalist Hani Al Awad stressed the economic dimension of the visit, pointing to existing investments such as the Duqm Refinery in Oman, and anticipating further strides in economic cooperation.

“The visit of His Majesty the Sultan to Kuwait is not just a diplomatic formality; it is a testament to the deep-rooted fraternal relations between our two nations,” said Shorouk Sadiq, another prominent Kuwaiti media personality.

“In a time of regional and international uncertainty, this visit reaffirms the stability and strength of our bond.”
