Muscat: The Wilayat of Al Jabel Al Akhdar in the Governorate of Al Dakhiiya offers various investment opportunities in the tourism field , while it enjoys an exceptional climate and natural uniqueness, as well as governmental facilities provided to investors strengthen the tourism investment at Al Jabal Al Akhdar.
Sheikh Sultan bin Mansour Al Ghufaili, Governor of Jabal Al Akhdar, said that investing in the tourism sector in Al Jabal Al Akhdar is considered as a golden opportunity for investors, as the basic infrastructure has been completed in the Wilayat , which is enjoying tangible development and a qualitative leap in various aspects and fields.
The Governor of Jabal Al Akhdar added that many investors are keen to seize the available opportunities, while the Wilayat receives great attention and continuous support from the wise government, as it is embracing many projects since the beginning of the renewed renaissance, where these projects are being completed and their number is increasing.
He clarified that, many development, service, economic, investment and tourism projects have been implemented in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, where some projects are still under implementation, while the opening of a hotel facility in the the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, will be announced soon.
He pointed out that the diversity of tourist attractions in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar reflects positively on investment opportunities in the tourism sector and made it a sustainable national option.
He clarified that, the Wilayat is witnessing a steady increase in tourist groups, as it is one of the beautiful tourist destinations in the Sultanate of Oman throughout the year.
Ahmed bin Hamad Al Nabhani, a member of the Municipal Council in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, said that there is a large tourism investment project that will be implemented soon in Hail Al Masbat ,which is overlooking Wadi Bani Kharous.
He clarified that, Hail Al Masbat project will be one of the largest tourism, economic and investment projects in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, while there is plan to construct another road to ascend Al-Jabal Al Akhdar via the Governorate of South Al Batinah, that will contribute to strengthen the tourism investment in the Wilayat.
Ali bin Said bin Mohammad Al-Adawi, Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, said: The tourism investment in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the Sultanate of Oman is rich of diverse opportunities in various sectors, thanks to its distinguished location and unique natural features that attract tourists from inside and outside of the Sultanate of Oman."
He added that Al Jabal Al Akhdar enjoys various features including its exceptional climate and unique nature that make it an ideal destination for many tourism activities such as mountain tourism, adventures, and recreation during the summer, in addition to enjoying the towering mountain peaks, deep valleys, water springs, and caves, that makes it possible to establish additional new projects.
He pointed out that, the Wilayat also enjoys rooted rich cultural heritage that opens horizons for cultural tourism projects, such as: museums, exhibitions, and heritage villages.
He emphasised that, the government provides great support for the development of infrastructure in Jabal Al Akhdar, including the implementation of Jabal Al Akhdar Interface Project, as well as roads and providing all basic services (electricity, water, and communication networks), which makes it easier for investors to establish their projects.
He stressed that, there are promising and diverse investment opportunities in Jabal Al Akhdar, in the fields of hotels and resorts, while there is an increasing demand for hotels and resorts in Jabal Al Akhdar, due to the increasing number of tourists, as well as there is a profitable investment opportunity in establishing restaurants and cafes that provide necessary services for tourists.
He added that there are also investment opportunities to create many recreational activities in Jabal Al Akhdar, such as hiking trails, horse riding activities, camping, and climbing adventures activities.
As handicrafts is one of the most important components of the cultural heritage in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, there are opportunities also to establish projects to sell products of this sector to tourists.
