Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman took part today in the joint ministerial meeting between foreign ministers of GCC countries and Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America (USA).
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the GCC in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Oman’s delegation in the meeting was headed by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.
The meeting reviewed GCC-US partnership relations and cooperation in political and economic fields.
Moreover, the two sides exchanged views on various regional and international issues of common interest. This move stems from the two sides keenness to support all efforts aimed towards achieving solutions and peaceful settlement of various issues and crises in a bid to have security and stability prevail in the region.
The two sides underscored the importance of concentrating on efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to reach a peaceful and just solution to the Palestinian cause on the basis of the two-state solution, international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Meanwhile, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister today met, separately, with Prince Faisal Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Alzayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two meetings were held on the side-lines of the joint ministerial meeting.
During the two meetings, areas of bilateral cooperation were reviewed, in addition to means of expanding them. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.
