Manah Electricity Transmission Station now operational

The Manah electricity transmission station has been made operational at a cost of more than OMR 11 million.

The Oman Electricity Transmission Company has completed all construction and operation works for the 400 kilovolt Manah electricity transmission station. The company confirmed that work on the project lasted for a year and eight months, with more than one million safe working hours. It included the construction of 400-kilovolt overhead transmission lines connecting the Manah and Nahida stations with a voltage of 400/132 and the new Manah and Izki stations.

The station includes 10 gas breakers with a voltage of 400 kilovolts, electrical transformers with a voltage of 11 kilovolts, and two transformers with a voltage of 750 kilovolts.

This project aims to transfer energy from the Manah solar power station through the main transmission network, to enhance the electrical transmission network with clean and renewable energy units, ensuring the achievement of sustainable environmental goals and reducing carbon emissions to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, in addition to raising the efficiency, reliability and safety of the electrical network.

The Oman Electricity Transmission Company (one of the Nama Group companies) transmits electricity from production stations to distributed load centers in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
