Fourth Arabic Language symposium concludes

Muscat: The Fourth Arabic Language Symposium under the slogan: “Teaching and Learning the Arabic Language: Insights and Practical Experiences” concluded on Tuesday.

The three-days symposium is organised by the Ministry of Education, with the participation of a number of experts and specialists in teaching and learning the Arabic language from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman at the Movenpick Hotel, Muscat.

The final day of the symposium covered the last two topics of the symposium, namely: literary texts (analysing and teaching) through four working papers, and Practical experiments and applications in teaching and learning the Arabic language through four working papers.

The second day of the symposium included the presentation of six papers distributed on to two sessions. The first session covered the second topic of the symposium which is Learning Theories and Results of Educational Studies in Language Empowerment.  The session included three papers, the first of which is titled “Theories of Language Acquisition and their Applications in Teaching Linguistic Skill” and was presented by Dr. Abdullah Al Hashmi.

The second paper was titled “Developing the Arabic Language Curricula in light of the Learning Modern Theories” and was presented by Dr. Hajer Herathi.

The third paper was entitled “Effects of Comprehension and Adaptation in Linguistically Empowering the Learner (Cognitive Development as a Model)” and was presented by Dr. Badar Al Sinani.

A discussion session followed on the topic of Digital Transformation Positivity and Challenges in Teaching and Learning the Arabic Language (Solutions and Suggestions) and hosted Dr. Zainab Al Shidhani, Dr. Fatimal Al Bosaidi, and Dr. Waleed Ahmed.

The second session covered the third main topic of the symposium which is Teaching and Learning of Arabic Language in light of Modern Educational Trends.

The session included the presentation of three papers, the first of which is titled “Implementing Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning Arabic Language” and was presented by Dr. Hind Al Thunaiyan.

The second paper in the session was titled “Reality of Inclusion of Future Skills in Arabic Language Curricula and its Teaching Practices” and was presented by Dr. Hashil Al Gafri.

The final paper of the second day was entitled “The Four-Way Teaching Method in Teaching Arabic Language” and was presented by Dr. Mohammad Al Ajmi.

The second day of the symposium concluded with three synchronous workshops in three separate halls on the topic of Employing Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Teaching Various Arabic Language Skills.
