Expat arrested for theft

An expat has been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for stealing gold jewellery and money from his employer’s home in the Wilayat of Suwaiq, North Al Batinah Governorate.

ROP said in a statement: "The Dhofar Governorate Police Command arrested an Asian domestic worker who stole gold jewelry and sums of money from his employer’s home in the Wilayat of Suwaiq and fled. The legal procedures are being completed against him."

Ministry of Heritage and Tourism issues violations against illegal hotel apartments

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has issued 20 violations against establishments practicing hotel apartment activity without obtaining the necessary licenses in the Dhofar Governorate.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said in a statement :"The Ministry calls on all unlicensed establishments to obtain the necessary approvals and licenses for operation to avoid taking legal measures in accordance with the executive regulations of the Tourism Law and to ensure the level of quality for guests. This came after 20 violations were issued against establishments practicing hotel apartment activity without obtaining the necessary licenses in the Dhofar Governorate."
