Body of missing person found in North Al Sharqiyah; death toll rises to 13

Muscat: Search teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate in separate incidents were able to find the bodies of a woman, and a child who had had gone missing. With this the death toll in the Sultanate of Oman due to the current weather condition has reached 15.

The body of the person who went missing in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate due to the heavy rains that swept the governorate has been found by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).

CDAA said in a statement :" As part of the efforts of the search teams of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, and with the support of other parties and citizens, a missing person was found dead. Search efforts are still ongoing for three other people, including a child."

The number of deaths as a result of the heavy rains that the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate witnessed which led to the flooding of many valleys, rose to 13.

The National Center for Emergency Situations (NCEM) announced on Sunday, April 14, 2024 that 12 deaths were recorded as a result of the heavy rains that swept through the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
