Muscat: Acting in cooperation with production parties and national authorities concerned, the General Federation of Oman Workers on Sunday began implementing the first stage of a field programme on the Social Protection Law and the provisions of the Labour Law.
The programme, which started in Muscat Governorate, will continue for several days.
The field programme seeks to consolidate the values of work and negotiation and to address the challenges that workers face when applying the provisions of the Social Protection Law and the Labour Law. It also highlights model practices based on the application of the provisions of the Social Protection Law and the Labour Law.
The programme introduces the practical tools and skills necessary to help workers adapt to labour market transitions and challenges.
The programme’s launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
The programme organisers make stopovers in four locations and it targets labour syndicates and human resources representatives at private sector companies.
Its first station covers the governorates of Muscat, South Al Batina and South A'Sharqiya. Its second stopover will be in the governorates of A’Dakhiliya and A'Dhahira. Its third station covers the governorates of North Al Batina and Al Buraimi. Its fourth station will be in the Governorate of Dhofar.
