Muscat: Heavy thunderstorms accompanied by strong downdraft winds and hail are likely over most governorates of the Sultanate of Oman on Monday, April 15, 2024.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) forecasts heavy thunderstorms accompanied by strong downdraft winds and hail toward tomorrow early morning until tomorrow evening over the Governorates of North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat, South Al Batinah, Al Dhahira, and parts of North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Musandam and Al Wusta Governorates with anticipated rainfall amounts ranging from 30-120 mm leading to flashfloods and wadis.
According to the CAA, Oman's weather on Monday will be:
* Heavy thundershowers with hail are expected ranging (30 - 120 mm) may cause flash floods in Wadis.
* Strong downdraft active winds with speed ranging 15-45 knots (28 - 83 km / h) .
* Rough seas along Musandam governorate and Oman Sea coasts (2-3 meters wave height) .
* Reduction in horizontal visibility during thundershowers .
