90 expats arrested in Oman

Muscat: 90 expats have been arrested in North Al Sharqiyah and Dhofar Governorate.

The Royal Oman Police said: “North Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command, with the support of the Ibra Special Tasks Police Unit, arrested 88 people of African and Asian nationalities for violating the labour and residence laws.”

In another case, the Dhofar Governorate Police Command arrested two Asian expatriates for stealing electrical cables from lighting poles on a road in the Wilayat of Taqah, and legal procedures are being completed against them.
