Board initiates strategic development of Indian schools for students benefits

Muscat: Education today is not merely teaching traditional skills but to foster 21st century skills like critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity for students to take ubiquitous challenges and opportunities.

It is, therefore, imperative that the best of resources are explored and utilised for the confluence of ideas and innovative methods for the benefit of the student community.

As part of the organisational development activities, the Board shuffled various responsibilities among its members to harness their expertise for the betterment of the system.

Recent changes in the office bearers and various committees of the Board have brought in fresh thinking and ideas to elevate the Indian Schooling system in Oman to its next level of activities.  

As revealed by one of the sources from the Board, within the maximum period of two years for each Board, such changes could ensure the optimum utilisation of various capacities of its members.

There are 21 Indian Schools in Oman with a staff strength of more than 2,500 catering to the educational needs of the students of Indian diaspora in this part of the world.

The Indian School Board ensures to provide quality education to every child and it provides state-of-the-art facilities so that the students undergo transformative learning and be equipped with the knowledge, skills and well-being to find their identity and purpose in life.

Indian Schools in Oman have the largest network of community driven governance of schools in the Middle East.

The Board of Directors is a statutory body under the patronage of the Ministry of Education, which govern the Indian Schools in Oman with the assistance of the Management Committees of each school.
