Bank Muscat to Host Souq Al Wathbah this Thursday in Head Office

MUSCAT – The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority and Bank Muscat, the leading financial service provider in the Sultanate, have joined hands to organise the annual Ramadhan Souq Al Wathbah at Bank Muscat’s Head Office, Airport Heights, from March 28 to March 30, 2024 (Thursday to Saturday). This annual initiative comes as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Bank Muscat, aiming at promoting small enterprises and providing them a space to introduce attractive Omani products and services to visitors.

This year, more than 150 entrepreneurs and SMEs will participate in the 2024 edition of Souq Al Wathbah. The exhibition will showcase a number of Omani products encompassing fashion, beauty, health and food. The three-day Souq will be open from 8 pm to 12 midnight.

Souq Al Wathbah represents a broad space for home-based projects and businesses to network with entrepreneurs and exchange experiences. It comes within the strategies of both the SMEs Development Authority and Bank Muscat to support Omani entrepreneurs, SMEs and startups, and educates the community about the importance of supporting MSMEs being the backbone of the country’s economy.

Since its first inception, the Ramadhan Souq achieved successful results and this year’s edition is expected to also witness excellent participation from the public and the media, especially as it is one of the well-known souqs held during the month of Ramadhan.

Bank Muscat is committed to implementing its strategic plans to support SMEs. For this particular purpose, it has launched many other initiatives including Al Wathbah Academy, Al Wathbah Businesswomen’s Forum etc. Al Wathbah SME department offers a comprehensive suite of tailor-made finance solutions and non-financial services targeted at small and medium enterprise in the areas of education, coaching, networking opportunities and workshops. Bank Muscat is continuously partnering with both government agencies and the private sector to promote entrepreneurship in Oman, particularly amongst the youth, as part of its focus on supporting the strategic goals of Oman Vision 2040.
