Muscat: The Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (Sezad) has commenced the implementation of essential services and infrastructure development within the region’s developmental framework for public benefit.

This initiative follows the fulfillment of procedural requisites mandated by the Council of Ministers, emphasising Sezad’s commitment to oversee and execute municipal services and public amenities in designated areas.

In line with this commitment, the local administration has promptly initiated operational functions, including the issuance of municipal licenses, provision of technical services, and rigorous employee training. These efforts are orchestrated to ensure the seamless delivery of efficient services to residents and businesses alike.

Concurrently, preparations are underway to establish a dedicated office in the bustling Sai commercial district.  This strategic move aims to fortify Sezad’s capacity to effectively oversee and supervise municipal services, thereby enhancing administrative efficacy and responsiveness.

Furthermore, the Sezad administration, represented by Tatweer Company, has embarked on a comprehensive assessment of current service provisions within public benefit plans.

This proactive measure encompasses a spectrum of preparatory initiatives, including road development, lane expansion, debris clearance, and installation of informative signage. These preparations are geared towards fostering enhanced accessibility and safety standards across the region.

Spanning an impressive 33 square kilometres across nine distinct plans, including the esteemed Old Sai Commercial District, these public benefit plans comprise a diverse array of industrial, commercial, and residential applications.

This strategic alignment underscores Sezad’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling multifaceted development objectives, catering to the evolving needs of stakeholders.
