Muscat Municipal Council reviews recommendations

Muscat: The Municipal Council of the Governorate of Muscat on Sunday held its 3rd meeting for 2024 under the chairmanship of Sayyid Saud Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat.

The meeting approved the agenda of the 2nd meeting of the council which included several recommendations. It also reviewed other recommendations of several committees and touched on a spectrum of topics.

The Council reviewed the recommendations of the Health and Environment Affairs Committee for advanced boat project, which is supervised by the Oman Investment Authority, represented by the Oman Fish Development Group, and aims to develop the Omani fishing fleet and enable it to make optimal and sustainable exploitation of living aquatic resources, and maintain the quality of fish products.

The Municipal Council agreed on the be’ah’s recommendation for waste management in the Muscat Governorate by creating a unified and common framework among the competent authorities, educating the community about safe waste disposal methods, achieving environmental sustainability and improving the quality of life.

The Council reviewed a summary of the recommendations of its permanent committees, notably the recommendations of the Legal Affairs Committee regarding the challenges of implementing the regulations for scrap collection and trading in the Muscat Governorate.
