Alizz Islamic Bank & The SME Development Authority Continues To Raise Financial Awareness In Children

As part of the joint efforts to raise awareness of entrepreneurial culture at a young age and to enhance the quality of life for future generations; Alizz Islamic Bank joined hands with the SME Development Authority recently to launch a mobile game for children.

‘The Little Entrepreneur’ mobile game is available for download on the Apple App store and the GooglePlay store and is an educational game that provides a virtual experience where children can learn the concepts of savings and entrepreneurship skills. The game enables children to engage and interact with entrepreneurial challenges. The game includes developing skills such as financial planning, organising project resources, tools and educates children about the value of saving and investment.

With a strong belief in supporting Omani SMEs; Alizz Islamic Bank and the SME Development Authority collaborated with FRAMEZEN a local Omani SME on the Development of the mobile game. The bank has always worked hand in hand with Omani talents to achieve common goals.

Alizz Islamic Bank’s continuous efforts on raising financial awareness across various initiatives because it is imperative for today’s children and youth to have a solid understanding of basic financial concepts and skills to navigate their way through a successful and sustainable future. The idea of sharing knowledge in a fun and exciting approach was the key element while developing the mobile game. The aim of the concept was to empower children and have them experience a journey of entrepreneurship through modern ways.

Speaking about the concept of the game, Asaad Al Kharusi, Chief Operating Officer at Alizz Islamic Bank said “financial concepts like saving, spending and financing, investing are key for building the foundation of financial literacy and in this modern era there is no better way for a child to learn than via interactive methods. We are honoured to have partnered with the SME Development Authority to give children a fun way to learn about entrepreneurship and the importance of saving.”

Also touching upon the importance of financial literacy Qais Al Tobi, General Supervisor of the Promising Omani Start-ups Programme of the SME Development Authority said “The SME Development Authority constantly works on initiatives to increase financial awareness and entrepreneurial culture through various initiatives. This comes from a dedicated vision in instilling this culture in children and youth so that they have a strong understanding of the basic financial skills to prepare for a successful future.”

Alizz Islamic Bank has embarked on many projects that have a positive impact on society. The goal being to strive to provide a better life for the people beyond their banking needs. Accompanied by a belief that investing in sustainable initiatives is the decisive element in creating a brighter future for the country and its people.
