Philanthropist contributes to release of indebted prisoners in Oman

Muscat: For the eighth year in a row, a philanthropist contributed to the release of all indebted prisoners in Al Dhahirah Governorate who are covered the conditions of the Fak Kurbah initiative. 

"For the eighth year in a row, a philanthropist who refuses to reveal his name contributed to the release of 51 detainees against whom detention orders were issued in the courts of Al Dhahirah Governorate, and they meet the conditions of the Fak Kurbah initiative, " Fak Kurbah said in a statement.

The Fak Kurbah initiative is concerned with collecting financial donations for the release of those imprisoned in prisons due to financial claims arising from them in civil, commercial, legal or labour cases.

 It stipulates for those covered by the initiative that the insolvent is imprisoned or a prison order has been issued against him. He/she has not benefited from the initiative during its previous versions, and that the amount required to be paid for release is related to a civil, commercial, legal or labour case, as the initiative does not cover criminal cases.In addition, the amount of the claim should not exceed OMR 2,000.
