OHRC Chairperson meets officials at British Embassy in Oman

Muscat: Prof. Rashid Hamad Al Balushi, Chairperson of the Oman Human Rights Commission, met with Gillian Oxenheim, Head of the Mission Office at the United Kingdom Embassy accredited to the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, the commission was introduced, along with its powers, its system, the monitoring mechanism, and receiving complaints related to human rights, in addition to the role that the commission plays in communicating and coordinating with international organisations concerned with human rights and the human rights awareness and education programs that are implemented in the Sultanate of Oman, targeting various segments of society.

Othman Raja attended the meeting from the Political Section of the British Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman, and from the side of the commission was Shatha Abdul Majeed Al Zadjali, Director of the Department of Organisations and International Relations at the Oman Human Rights Commission.
