Muscat: Given the weather forecast in the sultanate the ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation announced the suspension of university studies on Sunday, March 10, 2024 in vocational colleges and the transfer of studies in private higher education institutions remotely in the governorates of Al-Dhahirah, Al-Buraimi, South Al-Batinah, North Al-Batinah, Muscat, Al-Dakhiliyah, North Al-Sharqiyah, and South Al-Sharqiyah
The ministry said in announcement: “In reference to the statement issued by the National Emergency Management Committee regarding the weather situation (Al Rayyan groove), and out of the Ministry’s concern
For the safety of its students, it announces:
1- Suspending studies on Sunday, March 10, 2024 in vocational colleges and transferring studies to private higher education institutions remotely - as much as possible - in the governorates of (Al-Dhahirah - Al- Buraimi - South Al-Batinah - North Al-Batinah - Muscat - Al-Dakhiliyah - North Al-Sharqiyah - South Al-Sharqiyah ).
2- The management of these institutions decides whether or not to resume regular classes on Monday, March 11, 2024, according to the circumstances surrounding each institution from the consequences of the weather condition.
Due to the weather conditions over a number of governorates in the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Qaboos University's administration has decided that tomorrow's classes , Sunday 10 March 2024 will be suspended. Study will resume on Monday 11 March 2024
"We urge everyone to take all necessary precautions and adhere to any extra warnings announced by concerned units at the Sultanate."
