Weather update: Several parts of Oman witness rainfall, thunderstorms

Muscat: Rain and thunderstorm are being witnessed in the wilayat of Al-Buraimi, Al-Dhahirah, and North Al-Batinah governorates, and the governorates of North and South Al-Sharqiyah, Al-Wusta, and               
Dhofar Desert, CAA said in its last weather update.

Civil Aviation Authority said: “Currently there is, thunderstorm cell activity and rainfall of varying intensity over parts of Al Dakhiliyah and South Al Batinah. It is moving towards North and South Al Sharqiyah governorates and parts of Muscat. In addition, cloud formation over parts of Al Buraimi and North Al Batinah Governorates and chances of rainfall of varying intensity.”

Royal Oman Police said: “The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has moved vehicles from the public parking lot in Nizwa Souq.”

ROP also receives a report about a truck driver stuck in Wadi Awaifiyah stream in the Awaifiyah area, and the detention of another citizen in the Nahida area in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, and the follow-up is being carried out by the concerned authorities.
