Oman condemns Israel's approval of new settlement units in West Bank

Muscat: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s condemnation and denunciation of the decision of the Israeli occupation state to approve the construction of about 3,500 new settlement units in the West Bank, in a new flagrant violation of the rules of international law and Security Council resolutions and in disregard of the rights of the Palestinian people guaranteed to them by the international community legally.

 The Ministry renewed the Sultanate’s call to the international community to take immediate action to deter and hold Israel accountable regarding these illegal and illegitimate measures and to work to dismantle the Israeli settlements on Palestinian lands.

The Ministry also renewed the position of Oman calling for holding the Israeli government accountable for the policy and practices of genocide, torture, siege and starvation against the Palestinians in Gaza Strip this requires the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities to implement the standards of stopping aggression, restoring peace and security, and protecting the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
