Workshop held on using AI to enhance government units’ productivity

Muscat: Acting in cooperation with Microsoft, the Ministry of Labour today organized a workshop on “Enhancing Government Units’ Productivity Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technologies”.

The workshop focused on the latest AI technologies and their role in improving the performance of employees of the State’s Administrative Apparatus.

Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, said that the world is experiencing great developments that prompted the increased use of modern technology.

The world benefited from modern technology in many areas, including government sectors, said Al Busaidi, noting that "Today's workshop offeres wide scope for human resources’ innovation". He added that the workshop is a step forward to use modern technology to keep pace with the remarkable progress made in digital transition.

For his part, Sheikh Saif Hilal Al Hosni, Country Manager, Microsoft Bahrain and Oman, said that the workshop was held in response to the current acceleration in the uses of modern technology.

Al Hosni pointed out that workshop highlights two main points: “Working remotely using the latest AI technical tools from Microsoft” and “Using virtual personal assistants (Microsoft Azure Cobalt)”. He added that these tools help raise productivity, save time and improve output.

The workshop was attended by undersecretaries and officials representing various government departments.
