Muscat: The Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat, Oman, held an event to honour the teachers, academicians, researchers and university professors of Pakistani origin and other nationalities who have contributed significantly to education in Oman.
The event was the second of the three events that the Embassy plans to organise to celebrate the Pakistan National Day 2024.
The ceremony recognised the commitment and contributions of the educators in shaping the minds and futures of countless students across the nation.
Al Sayyida Wafa Bint Hilal Albusaidi, renowned clinical psychologist was the chief guest at the event. The event was attended by diplomats, representatives from academia and members of Pakistani community who joined together to celebrate the achievements of these luminaries.
The distinguished educators who were recognised hail from Pakistan, Oman, Iran and India and have served diligently for several years, nurtured intellect and fostered academic excellence in Oman. Through their tireless efforts, they have left an indelible mark on the educational landscape of Oman enriching the lives of numerous individuals and communities.
The educators who were recognised belonged to Sultan Qaboos University, University of Nizwa, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Gulf College, Mazoon College and Pakistan School System. Some engineers and other professionals who made their mark in their respective fields were also recognised and were awarded certificates of excellence.
In her speech, chief guest Al Sayyida Wafa Bint Hilal Albusaidi appreciated the efforts of the Embassy of Pakistan in holding this event. Appreciation of extraordinary work is an impetus to work better, she said. She cherished the remarkable contributions of these high-achievers who not only elevated the standards of learning but also played a pivotal role in shaping a whole generation of learners in Oman. Imran Ali, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the educators for their commitment and contributions to education.
He emphasised the pivotal role of educators in fostering intellectual growth, promoting cultural exchange and strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Oman. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Embassy and the Government of Pakistan to promote excellence in all fields of life.
Al Sayyida Wafa Bint Hilal Albusaidi has a diversified background for her work on domestic violence, addiction and mental health. She specialises in anxiety disorders, grief and trauma related disorders. Al Sayyida Wafa Albusaidi has worked in various countries and is an advocate for mental health and women and children rights in Oman. She is the psychological advisor of Children First Association in Oman.
