Several governorates witness heavy rainfall, thunderstorms in Oman

Muscat: The governorates of North Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah have witnessed thunderstorms, heavy rainfall resulting in flow of reefs and valleys.

In general the weather forecast of today, Thursday, February 29, 224 is expected to be clouds advection over the northern governorates with chance of isolated rain occasionally thundershower associated with downdraft and hail Over Buraimi, Al Dhahira, North Al Batinah, extend to cover South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliya, Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah.

The General Directorate of Meteorology noted: “There is chance for dust storms and reduction in horizontal visibility in deserts and open areas, and chance of low clouds or fog patches at late night to early morning over parts of Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah.
