ISM U16 win Inter-School, OCA U16 win Inter-Academy Under 16 title

Muscat: Indian School Muscat U16 beat Indian School Wadi Kabir U16 by 5 wickets in the finals of Oman Cricket Inter-School U16 Junior Domestic League 2023-24 supported by Mazoon Dairy SAOC at Municipality Grounds recently.

ISWK U16 posted 185 in 30 overs courtesy Saumya Sampat’s 36 and a collective contribution from the other batters. Vihaan Chauhan picked 2 wickets for ISM U16. In response, ISM U16 chased down the target with one over remaining courtesy Giriharan KK’s 69 along with 36 from Siddheswaran and 31 from Jeet Shah. Arav Pillai picked 3 wickets.

Oman Cricket Academy U16 beat Muscat Cricket Coaching Centre Yellow U16 by 7 wickets in the finals of Oman Cricket Inter-Academy U16 Junior Domestic League 2023-24 supported by Mazoon Dairy SAOC at Municipality Grounds recently.

MCCC Yellow U16 was bundled for 187 courtesy a 3-wicket haul from Vignesh Karthikeyan and two wickets each for Muhammed Abrar and Mohammed Aseel. Hafiz Mohammed and Jeet Shah scored 50 each respectively. In response, OCA U16 chased the target courtesy 66 from Kavish Shah, 46 from Christo Tredoux and 45 from Saumya Sampat by 7 wickets with 10 balls remaining.
In the Prize Distribution ceremony, Mr. Alkesh Joshi, Treasurer - Oman Cricket, Mr. Kiran Asher – Board Member, Oman Cricket, Mr. Paul Martin, Mazoon Dairy and Mr. Duleep Mendis – Chief Development Officer - Oman Cricket graced the stage.

For Inter-School tournament, Saumya Sampat of ISWK U16 bagged the Best Batsman while Jeyapranesh Ayyapan of ISAS U16 was awarded Best Bowler and Rishab Gupta of ISWK Cambridge was adjudged Best All-Rounder.

For Inter-Academy tournament, Jeet Shah of MCCC Yellow U16 bagged the Best Batsman while Vignesh Karthikeyan of OCA U16 was awarded Best Bowler and Saumya Sampat of OCA U16 was adjudged Best All-Rounder.
