MERA urges pilgrims from Oman to sign up with licensed companies

Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA), urged pilgrims and Umrah performers to contract only with licensed companies through the electronic registration system for pilgrims of the Sultanate of Oman.

The Ministry said in a statement: "Recently, it has been observed that some names of “fake companies” have spread on social media sites advertising the provision of Hajj and Umrah services, but the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs does not license them."

 "We ask all pilgrims and Umrah performers to contract only with companies licensed through the electronic registration system for pilgrims of the Sultanate of Oman at www.hajj.om," the statement added.

MERA announces Omani Hajj Mission for 1445 AH

A ministerial decision  has been issued on Sunday, February 25, 2024 to form the Omani Hajj Mission for the year 1445 AH.

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA), issued a ministerial decision to form the Omani Hajj Mission for the year 1445 AH, headed by Sultan bin Said Al Hinai.

The decision stipulated that Dr. Ahmed bin Ali bin Mubarak Al Kaabi would be Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Abdulaziz bin Masoud Al Ghafri would be Vice President for Pilgrims Affairs and Hajj Campaigns.

 It is noteworthy that the Omani Hajj Mission performs a number of tasks and services, including: providing assistance to pilgrims and directing them to the procedures for performing rituals.
