Symposium on children’s theatre organised at Muscat International Book Fair

Muscat: The Omani Theatre Association, in cooperation with the Cultural Committee of the 28th edition of Muscat International Book Fair, organised a seminar at the Children Theatre of Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday.

The seminar saw the participation of a number of personalities concerned with theatre including Dr. Kamla bint Al Waleed Al HInai, Yousef bin Mohammed al Balushi, Dr. Emad bin Mohsin Al Shanfari and Dr. Rahima bint Mubarak Al Jabri.

The seminar tackled the concept of children theatre and its characteristics and its significance for children. The participants in the seminar discussed the development of theatre in the Sultanate and its association with education and sciences such as psychology and sociology among other fields.

The seminar recommended several things including planning and finance of the children theatre in the Sultanate.

Earlier on 23 February, the Ministry of Information in cooperation with the Cultural Committee of Muscat International Book Fair organised two discussion sessions on the cultural achievements of Nizwa magazine 1994-2023 in which a number of personalities from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman participated.

The participants discussed the services offered by Nizwa Magazine in the field of research and studies among other issues.

The participants also stated that Nizwa Magazine has created awareness for the various generations and discussed the role of social media in creating a new generation different from earlier generations.

On the same day, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) organised a discussion session at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on the signatures of artists on their artworks in Mecca Region.
