Muscat: A team from the Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC), led by the Commission's Chairperson, Prof. Rashid Hamed Al Balushi, accompanied by several members of the Coordinating Committee for Justice and Coordination Affairs visited Sumail Central Prison.
This visit was part of the consultative assessment of diversity, given to the General Administration of Prisons by officers and supporters of models for the youngest workers in prisons.
She also informed the guests about the support, health and social services in the prison, and the correctional facility available for offenders.
The visit came within the scope of the committee's numerous tasks in Article 11 of the system, which contains undertaking field visits to prisons and detention centres, in addition to building bridges of participation and cooperation.
