ISWK, MCCC Yellow emerge champions

Muscat: Indian School Wadi Kabir (ISWK) edged past Indian School Muscat (ISM)-A by 23 runs in the final of Oman Cricket Inter-School Junior Domestic League 2023-24 at Municipality Grounds in Al Amerat recently.

ISWK posted 177 in 20 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Cleon Mello (66) and Vivaan Malhotra (66). Pranav NS picked two wickets for ISM.

Pranav’s 64 went in vain for ISM as they fell short by 23 runs. Ayush Shetty and Mohammed Akeel took two wickets each.

Easy win for MCCC Yellow

In the Oman Cricket Inter-Academy Junior (U13) Domestic League 2023-24, Muscat Cricket Coaching Centre (MCCC) Yellow trounced Bosher Sports Centre (BSC)-C by ten wickets in the final recently.

MCCC Yellow bundled BSC-C for paltry 88 in 16 overs. Pranav NS claimed three while Shravan SM bagged two wickets. Aditya Chaudhari was the top scorer with 32. MCCC Yellow’s Shravan (44) and Ayush Shetty (37) shared an unbroken opening wicket partnership to seal a comfortable victory.

Later, Oman Cricket officials presented the awards.

Individual awards: Inter-School: Best batter and best allrounder: Ayush Shetty (ISWK); best bowler: Jose Cherian (ISWK Lions).

Inter-Academy: Best batter and best allrounder: Ayush Shetty (MCCC Yellow), bets bowler: Pranav NS (MCCC Yellow).

Brief scores: Inter-School: ISWK 177/5 in 20 overs (Vivaan Malhotra 66, Cleon Mello 66; Pranav NS 2/27) beat ISM-A 154/7 in 20 overs (Pranav NS 64; Mohammed Akeel 2/23).

Inter-Academy: BSC-C 88 all out in 16 overs (Aditya Chaudhari 32; Pranav NS 3/8) lost to MCCC Yellow 89/0 in 10.3 overs (Shravan SM 44, Ayush Shetty 37).
