NEET exams to be held in Oman and other foreign countries

MUSCAT: Aspiring medical students of India based in Oman heaved a sigh of relief as the Indian government has now decided to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) 2024, in foreign countries.

Parents welcomed the decision as they would be relieved of the travel to India for their children and also the cost. In a public notice issued on February 20, NTA, an autonomous organization under India’s Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education), stated its decision to conduct exams in foreign cities.

“In continuation to the public notice dated 9th February 2024, where in NTA has invited online application forms for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) 2024, it has been decided that the exam will be conducted in the foreign cities as per details mentioned below,” states the notice, which lists Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah), Thailand (Bangkok), Srilanka (Colombo), Qatar (Doha), Nepal (Kathmandu), Malaysia (Kuala Lampur), Nigeria (Lagos), Bahrain (Manama), Oman (Muscat), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), and Singapore as foreign centres for NEET UG 2024 exams.
