Oman Ominvest Masters Golf Tournament underscores potentials of sports and tourism sectors in Oman

Dedicated to bolstering the sports and tourism industries in the Sultanate of Oman, Oman International Development and Investment Company "Ominvest”, orchestrated the Oman Ominvest Masters Golf Tournament which took place on the 16th and the 17th February in the La Vie Club at Muscat Hills, Madinat Al Irfan. 

The closing ceremony was attended by His Highness Azzan bin Qais al Saeed, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Balushi, Group CEO of Ominvest, CEOs of the group's companies, and a number of amateurs and concerned parties.
The event drew 60 golfers from the GCC countries, featuring participation from national teams of the Sultanate of Oman, as well as teams from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
His Highness Azzan bin Qais al Saeed and AbdulAziz Al Balushi, Group CEO of Ominvest presented the award to the Saudi player Khalid Al Attiyah, who secured the championship title.
The Oman Ominvest Masters Golf Tournament, recognized as the largest amateur golf event in the Sultanate of Oman, showcased the considerable potential within the sports and tourism sectors in the country.
Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Balushi, Group CEO of Ominvest, stated that the tournament played a role in advancing the opportunities within the Sultanate of Oman to support and foster the sport of golf. It also aimed to inspire talented individuals and amateurs to enhance their skills.

In a media announcement, he expressed, "LA VIE Club, an investment of Ominvest, features mountainous terrain, lush greenery, and panoramic views of the Sea of Oman.

This enhances the Sultanate of Oman's standing in the realm of golf both regionally and globally."
The Saudi golfer, Khalid Al Attiyah, the Champion of the Tournament, expressed his delight of the participation in Oman’s Masters Golf Tournament. He indicated that the tournament was successful from the organizational and competitive point of view and witnessed a great participation of professional and distinguished players, applauding the organizers ' great efforts. 

“Oman stands out with its global stadiums and the well-organized tournaments it hosts, drawing in a significant number of international events. I've taken part in several of these tournaments, and there's considerable enthusiasm for the game in Oman.” he added.
Al Attiyah commended the Saudi Arabian Golf Federation for its substantial support to Saudi players and their active involvement in the tournament. He emphasized the remarkable growth of the game in the Gulf region, attributing it to the heightened interest, leading to the emergence of players, training programs, and officiating teams.

The Oman Ominvest Masters Golf Tournament was supported by numerous local businesses. Platinum sponsorship was extended by Ominvest, Oman Arab Bank, and Oman Real Estate Investment and Services (Oris). Gold sponsorship was generously provided by Alizz Islamic Bank, U-Capital, Liva Insurance, Takaful Oman Insurance, and National Finance Company.
LA VIE Club features an 18-hole grassed golf course which is uniquely situated across 45 hectares of land, it provides picturesque sea views and a breathtaking backdrop of the mountains.

The course integrates the natural valley terrain, incorporating expansive fairways along the cliffs. With five golf play options, it caters to a diverse range of golfing skills.
The LA VIE project covers an area of around 640,000 square meters and features a natural golf course spanning 600,000 square meters, complete with 18 holes and a private club.   

The project also comprises of residential, commercial, and tourism buildings with a built-up area of 64,000 square meters. The centerpiece of the development is an 80-room boutique hotel managed by Tivoli and it  
will also also provide a private health club, and spa operated by the world-leading brand 'Anantara.'  

Tivoli will also manage 100 fully serviced apartments. The residential complex comprises of 8 independent luxury villas and 22 apartments, all offering spectacular views of the golf course and Al Hajar Mountains. The project also includes approximately 2,800 square meters of retail space hosting a variety of international brands, some of which are new to the Omani market.
