Oman and Romania discuss bilateral ties

Munich: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister on Saturday met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Romania Luminita Odobescu, on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference. The event was inaugurated on 16 February in Munich, Germany.

During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their joint interest for development of the bilateral relations and mutual interests between the two countries.

They also stressed the significance of adopting dialogue as the way for achievement of understanding, security and stability along with actual implementation of the provisions and rules of the international law and justice for all.

The two sides also stressed according utmost priority for resolving the global humanitarian disaster in Gaza through immediate ceasefire and entry of relief items.

Sayyid Badr also met with a number of senior members of the Elders Group in the presence of Ban Ki Moon, Former UN Secretary General; Juan Santos, Former Colombian President; Gro Harlem Brundtland, Former Director General of the World Health Organisation; and Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

The meeting discussed and exchanged views on a number of issues mainly the main components of peace making starting with the recognition of the State of Palestine and implementation of the two -state solution and the rules of justice security and stability for all parties.

The meetings were attended by a number of officials from the two sides.
