Muscat: Several people across Oman were rescued on Monday as rainfall affected many governorates. These included people trapped in a private medical facility in North Al Batinah Governorate due to water entering the building.
Oman News Agency (ONA) reported: "The Sub-Committee for Emergency Situation Management in North Al Batinah Governorate was able to evacuate many people from a private medical centre who were trapped there due to water entering the building."
In another instance, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) rescued a person trapped in his vehicle in a valley in Al Buraimi Governorate. CDAA said: "Rescue teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in Al Buraimi Governorate were able to rescue a person trapped in his vehicle in a valley in Al Buraimi Governorate. He is in good health."
CDAA said in another statement that a vehicle with two people in it drifted in Wadi Ghayya in the Wilayat of Yanqul, where rescue teams from the Civil Defence Department were able to save a person. The search for the other person is underway.
The CDAA teams also reported that three children were swept into the stream of Wadi Bani Ghafir in the Wilayat of Rustaq. Search and rescue teams from the Civil Defence Department and Ambulance in the South Al Batinah Governorate are at the site to deal with the accident.
Teams in Muscat Governorate dealt with a report of a person being detained inside his boat in a pool of water in the Wilayat of Seeb. He was rescued and is in good health.
Rescue teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in Al Dhahirah Governorate were able to rescue 6 people after their vehicle was detained in a valley stream in the Wilayat of Yanqul. They are all in good health.
Rescue teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in Muscat Governorate were able to rescue two people after their vehicle was stuck in a valley in the Wilayat of Seeb. They are in good health.
The authority called on everyone to take utmost caution and not risk crossing valleys and to stay away from low places.
