Muscat: The Basic Services Sector of the National Emergency Management Committee has completed its preparations to limit the effects of the weather conditions, expected to affect the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman during the next three days.
The Basic Services Sector has activated its operations center on shifts with the aim of coordinating preparedness and response efforts to the weather situation.
The sector, which supervises services (roads - electricity - communications - water and sanitation - fuel and waste management), has also directed all its authorities to activate plans to continue work and emergency response plans to deal with various impacts on basic services.
In turn, the competent authorities in these sectors held meetings and equipped field response teams in the states and regions that are expected to be affected by the weather condition, while the sector appealed to the public and beneficiaries of basic services to communicate with communications centers in the event of any inquiries about basic services, in addition to the necessity of following up with concerned authorities to know of any developments in the weather situation.
