The University of Nizwa launches its 19th Cultural Season with a focus on Digital Transformations and the Labor Market

The University of Nizwa has officially started its 19th cultural season with a grand inauguration ceremony. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Saleh Dhiyab Al-Rubaie, Wally of Nizwa, and was attended by the University chancellor, Prof. Ahmed Al Rawahi, along with other distinguished guests.

This year's cultural season is centred around the theme of "Digital Transformations and the Labor Market", with a special focus on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the job market. With AI technology rapidly advancing, the University of Nizwa recognizes the importance of preparing students for the changing workforce landscape.

The Forum of the Alumni Association of GCC Universities was the main event of the inauguration with the participation of GCC universities, the main goal of the forum was to address the most pressing challenges faced by alumni associations of universities through an opening panel discussion. During the forum, the alumni associations of GCC universities exchanged experiences and cooperated to facilitate the services they provide to their affiliates. The participants also discussed ways to connect alumni associations in the GCC area to foster greater collaboration and exchange of ideas. The forum was a great opportunity for alumni associations to discuss common challenges and explore ways to enhance their services and support their affiliates.

The forum included 3 sessions that presented 15 scientific papers that discussed issues related to the labour market and graduates, empowerment, and other challenges and obstacles and ways to overcome them, tools for empowerment and qualification, and skills for success and leadership. The panellists discussed the challenges faced by GCC job market alumni in adapting to the changes brought about by artificial intelligence and finding new opportunities.

The accompanying exhibition included the participation of Gulf alumni associations, student initiatives and applications in the fields of digital transformation, and ideas of student groups and companies.

"We are thrilled to launch this year's cultural season with a focus on such a timely and relevant topic," said the organizing committee. "As a leading institution of higher learning, it is our responsibility to empower our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the digital age."

The cultural season will feature a wide range of activities, including seminars, workshops, and exhibitions, all aimed at educating students and the general public about the latest developments in AI and its impact on the labour market.
