MUSCAT: The Embassy of India in Muscat organised the third lecture in the series “From Mandvi to Muscat: Indian Community and the shared history of India and Oman” at the embassy hall on Sunday.
Renowned historian, economist, and member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Economic Advisory Council, Sanjeev Sanyal, delivered the lecture titled “Mandvi to Muscat: Five thousand years of exchange.”
The captivating lecture shed light on the historic ties between India and Oman, exploring ancient maritime connections, shipbuilding traditions, and trade.

Paresh Shah from the Shah Nagardas Family shared a narrative of his family’s history, underscoring their contributions to the historical relations between India and Oman.
In the culmination of the programme, Ms. Anisha Parjit, founder of the Oman Book Lovers Club, engaged in a thought-provoking interview with Sanyal. The interview delved into the profound insights of the accomplished author, shedding light on his role as a prominent figure in the Economic Advisory Council and his contributions as a best-selling author.
The third lecture in the series not only celebrated the historical tapestry of India-Oman relations but also provided a platform for engaging discussions, personal narratives, and intellectual exploration, further cementing the enduring ties between the two nations.
