Education Minister lauds His Majesty's directive to assist children with diabetes

Muscat: Providing electronic sensors to measure sugar levels and insulin pumps for children contributes to providing the means and capabilities for a healthy life, Ministry of Education stated.

The Ministry of Education explained that providing electronic sensors to measure sugar levels and insulin pumps for children under school age, children in pre-school education (kindergarten and preschool), and school students under the age of eighteen - Omanis - with type 1 diabetes, which came under the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, said that these generous royal directives come as confirmation of the continued interest of His Majesty the Sultan for his loyal people of all ages, and at the same time it is a continuation of the high patronage enjoyed by the school education sector during the prosperous era of His Majesty.

Her Excellency added: "Providing these electronic sensors contributes to providing the means and capabilities for a decent, healthy life for this category of students. In order to enable them to continue their learning in the educational ladder with comfort and reassurance for themselves, their parents, and educational staff in schools."

Her Excellency Dr. Minister of Education concluded her speech by offering the highest expressions of thanks and gratitude from the employees of the Ministry of Education and the parents of this category of students to the high standing of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, indicating to move forward to develop the educational process to keep pace with and achieve the visions and aspirations of His Majesty for the school education sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
