MUSCAT- Former Czech Republic national coach Jaroslav Šilhavý has been appointed as Oman national football team coach on Thursday.
The 62 year old replaces Croatian Branko Ivankovic, who was sacked by the Oman Football Association (OFA) after the national team's disappointing AFC Asian Cup campaign in Qatar recently.
The announcement of Silhavy as national head coach was made by the OFA on its Twitter handle after OFA chairman Sheikh Salim Al Wahaibi and Silhavy signed a deal.
A former Czech national team defender, Silhavy, served as manager of the Czech national team from 2018-2023.
