University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Musannah launches the 16th Rangers Camp

Muscat: Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali bin Saud Al-Habsi, Wali of Al-Musannah, the sixteenth Rangers Camp of the university was launched in the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al-Musannah with the participation of more than 60 rangers and leaders from various branches of the university. The Rangers Camp is part of the joint activities organized every year by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences with the participation of all its branches.

The opening ceremony began with the Royal Anthem of Oman and the recitation of the Holy Quran. This was followed by the ranger yells welcoming the ceremony patron and the audience. Dr Nasser bin Salem Al-Bimani, Assistant Vice Chancellor of the university branch in Al-Musannah, delivered the organizing committee’s speech in which he welcomed all the guests and participants in the 16th Rangers Camp, hosted by the university branch in Al-Musannah from January 29 to February 1, with the participation of more than 60 rangers and leaders from various university branches. He expressed his pride in hosting this annual event, which has become an integral part of the university`s activities. He added that Al- Musannah branch proudly organizes this event, describing it as an exceptional event that adds to the impressive achievements of the previous year's Rangers Camp. He further mentioned that the current edition of the Rangers Camp comes under the motto, ‘Rangers Scouting: Solidarity, Challenge, Innovation,’ aiming to portray the deep role of rangers, reflecting solidarity, teamwork spirit, and effective communication. The challenge highlights the ambition, strength, and determination of the rangers to overcome obstacles, while innovation showcases their ability to bring about change and create creative solutions to social problems, stimulating innovation in various fields.

Regarding this event, the Leader of the Rangers, Nadia bint Marhoon Al-Khameesi, from the university branch in Al-Musannah, said, "We appreciate the university administration's support for the scouting movement, which is an essential part of the comprehensive vision for developing and empowering students in all fields. The university is diligently working to provide a conducive environment for the development of their skills and capabilities, recognizing the importance of the youth's role in society. Hence, the focus is on the scouting movement, which is a vital part of the students' development process and one of the most important youth activities that seeks to encourage teamwork, community service, and the enhancement of leadership values, personal, social, responsibility, and citizenship skills."

The opening ceremony included a presentation highlighting the 22nd Rangers Camp of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, which was hosted last year at the university branch in Al-Musannah. The ceremony also shed light on the achievements of the university Rangers in local and international competitions. An operetta was also performed by rangers showing the Ranger Scouting Movement and its importance in meeting the needs and aspirations of youth, spreading the spirit of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, and demonstrating how it infuses good morals, such as honesty and dedication in the individual.

At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali bin Saud Al-Habsi honoured the university branches participating in the Rangers Camp, as well as the institutions and workshop presenters who have contributed to the success of this activity.
