Sayyid Fahd receives top Chinese official

Muscat: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers yesterday received Chen Xiaoguang, Vice-Chairperson of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
The guest conveyed greetings of the leadership and government of China along with best wishes of permanent success to His Majesty and the government, and the Omani people further progress and growth.
Sayyid Fahd praised the growing relations between the two countries, as well as the remarkable progress witnessed by such relations during the previous years while celebrating the 40th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations between the Sultanate and China.
Sayyid Fahd reviewed the Shura march in the Sultanate and contribution of the Council of Oman along with the government in supporting the national work.
The meeting reviewed the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, means of enhancing such cooperation in economic and trade fields and sharing expertise to achieve interest of people, in addition to reviewing several issues and current developments in the international arena. On his turn, Chen Xiaoguang expressed his country’s appreciation to Oman’s wise leadership and its constructive role in serving the regional and international issues.
He also commended the talks he conducted with the Chairman of Majlis Al Shura and senior officials in the Sultanate.
The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura and Yu Fulong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Sultanate.
